This Wednesday 5/11/11 new comics include The Flash #12 and Flashpoint #1. Socio-economic factors made me a Marvel guy, if you believe in "Marvel people" and "DC people". Still I can't help but be excited about this.May is gonna be a teaser...the real party starts in June, when we'll see books like Batman Knight of Vengeance, by the 100 bullets team of Azzarello and Risso. Flashpoint respins Wayne Enterprises into Wayne Casinos, and I'm not sure if this dark and dicey Bruce Wayne is a good guy or not.
We'll also see Aquaman as a badass in Emperor Aquaman. DC copy reads "Flash Fact: He will drown the world- then rule it!" Bring it on, I want to meet this Aquaman (well, in a comic book, not like, in a dark alley or swimming pool).
The Green Lantern aspect of Flashpoint is most intriguing. Abin Sur is Green Lantern, because he never died. Hal Jordan is not, because he never received the ring. Each will have their own Flashpoint miniseries.
DC Comics also happens to be doing a cool little promotion for this event, and Alliance Comics is all about it! 16 of the Flashpoint #1 issues are accompanied by a free insignia pin when you pick up the comics. These buttons will be released with the comics and we will be giving away the pin / button when you buy the book. Pretty cool, huh?
Flashpoint #1 is in store this week on Wednesday, 5/11/11.
